SWINE FLU OUTBREAK ALERT

Dear Friends:

There is currently a worldwide watch on a recent outbreak of the deadly Swine Flu virus, believed to be started in Mexico, and now spreading worldwide due to international travel via airlines. The disease, if untreated immediately, can be fatal.

If you feel any flu-like symptoms, do not attend work or school - immediately seek medical treatment through your local physician or clinic. When calling for an immediate appointment, stress that you suspect that you may have contracted Swine Flu, and that it is an emergency. Please avoid going to hospital emergency rooms, which are seriously overcrowded and where the threat of contamination and infection can be particularly high.

Take the precautions which the governmental health care agencies have been announcing (more on that in a moment), especially if you are chronically ill, elderly, or if you have young children. If you are a nutrition buff, you might want to increase your daily dosage of zinc and lysine to higher levels in order to further bolster your body's immune system; but be aware, that this should not be done without your healthcare practitioner's knowledge and approval. Nutritional aids are not a substitute for a doctor's immediate expert attention.
